NCEF is a community initiative that has been working since 2010 to shift the NSW North Coast towards a sustainable energy system.

We have held four day-long forums in different towns around the region between 2010 and 2014. Each has been attended by over one hundred representatives of government, industry and the community.

In that time we have witnessed the region go from importing about 95 per cent of its energy (most of it from fossil fuels) to becoming a national leader in the rollout of rooftop solar and an innovator in community energy, bioenergy and local Council energy and climate initiatives.

In 2016, thanks to generous seed sponsorship from Coffs Harbour City Council and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage we are pleased to be taking the forum back to the Mid North Coast, where we began in 2010. This year’s forum will be held in Coffs Harbour on Friday 25 November and will be joined by a battery expo showcasing the main products and suppliers in the residential market.
